On the house ale pump you'll find one of three great English ales - Courage Best (4%), Brentwood's The Baldy (3.8%, brewed specially for us to recognise the pub's name and our follicley-challenged landlord!) or Mighty Oak's Burntwood (4%). These are complemented by 3 other guest ales of varying strengths, with which we try to showcase the independent breweries of Great Britain.

Mind you, if you particularly like one then have a few quick - they are very popular and tend to be changed with extreme regularity. The house ales are on a rotation of 3 firkins each, and the guests rarely last more than a few days (guest ales, not guests of the pub!). You could, of course, take some home with you, in one of our 4 pint flagons.

Oh, and just in case these aren't enough to tempt you, why not try our range of bottled English ales?

If you're STILL not convinced, then you need to try out our Easter and Summer beer festivals - details are available here!
